Virtual Learning Plan

In the event of inclement weather or other emergencies, Christina School District may switch to Virtual Learning Days. During these days, students will participate in a mix of live (synchronous) lessons and independent (asynchronous) activities designed to keep learning on track. This flexible approach ensures all Christina students continue their education from home in a family-friendly and supportive environment. Parents and students will receive timely updates with instructions and resources.

House Concurrent Resolution 16 (HCR16) required the DDOE to define terms “relating to virtual learning environments, including virtual school, virtual schooling, virtual learning, and virtual programming.”

  • K12 Virtual Learning occurs when content is delivered online and synchronously by an instructor or asynchronously through an online platform or online program. Virtual learning occurs within and outside of traditional locations, times, distances and instruction, and can take place in in-person settings. Communication Process

Christina School District will provide as much notice as possible in the event that a Virtual Inclement Weather Day may occur.

  • Devices will be distributed in advance of a possible inclement weather day.
  • Individual schools may communicate specific information about their class schedules and programs.

Devices & Software

Thanks to our 1:1 Technology Initiative, Christina School District has a device available for all students. These devices will be distributed to students in advance of an inclement weather day.

Schoology

Christina School District uses Schoology, an integrated learning management solution that allows for digital teaching, grading, communication and remote learning on one platform. Class sessions in Schoology are held on Zoom.
