Exciting Recognition for Brookside Elementary School!
We are thrilled to announce that two schools from the Christina School District, Brookside Elementary School and Marshall Elementary School, have recently been honored by Delaware Secretary of Education Mark Holodick as 2024 Recognition School Award Winners for Excellence in Serving Special Populations. This prestigious honor was awarded to only seven schools across the entire state, and we are proud that both Brookside and Marshall have earned this distinguished title.
Brookside and Marshall Elementary schools have been acknowledged for their remarkable growth and progress, specifically in the category of multilingual learners demonstrating exceptional growth toward meeting proficiency on the state’s English proficiency test.
“We are incredibly proud to note that this is Brookside Elementary's second consecutive year receiving this distinguished recognition,” said Christina School District Deputy Superintendent and Chief Academic Officer, Dr. Deirdra Joyner. “This achievement is a testament to their commitment to excellence and continuous improvement. Both schools have set a remarkable standard for excellence in serving special populations, and we are excited to see what the future holds for them.”
Interim Superintendent Dr. Bob Andrzejewski shared his excitement about the recognition, saying, “Receiving this acknowledgment from Secretary Holodick truly reflects the dedication and effort of our educators and staff. We are not just teaching; we are actively building our future and laying the groundwork for success in every student's journey.”
Congratulations to Brookside and Marshall Elementary for this well-deserved recognition!
