Parent Advisory Council (PAC) Meeting to be Held December 17
The Parent Advisory Council meeting is scheduled for Thursday December 17, 2020 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The presenter will be Daniela Powter, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
Daniela has an extensive background in treatment of severe behaviors within the private school setting. She has worked with individuals of all ages on behavioral and social-emotional challenges. She holds international board certification in Behavior Analysis from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. Daniela’s presentation will highlight some tips and tricks that parents and caregivers can implement in the home in order to increase their student’s attention and focus during virtual learning. She will discuss environmental adaptations and behavioral strategies to aid students of all ages during this difficult time.
The Parent Advisory Council (PAC) provides an opportunity for parents to collaboratively engage with the Christina School District Special Services Department and serves as a platform for advocacy. Parent Council Advisory (PAC) meetings are designed to be conversational and open with an emphasis on sharing feedback, ideas, information, questions, and concerns. PAC strives to promote communication between families and the district to better support the education of children. We encourage all families and caregivers of students with special education needs or IEPs to participate and attend. Some special programs already have their own Parent Advisory Council (PAC) or PTA. The Special Services Parent Council is in addition to any parent organizations that may be available to you within the district.
