Mckayla Momodu Participated in Envision’s National Youth Leadership Forum: Explore STEM
NYLF Explore STEM is one of the Envision families of programs that enable students to explore their interests and experience learning beyond the classroom.
I was nominated to attend the forum by my seventh grade math teacher, Ms.Love, at Gauger Cobbs Middle School in Newark, Delaware . In addition to being in my third year in the Cambridge program, I am also passionate about sports, playing basketball, and running track for my school team. I am a Distinguished Honor Roll scholar that maintains a 4.0 GPA every marking period.
My dream is to become a dentist or a pediatrician. The forum helped me build confidence and skills needed to excel in high school, college, and in my future career. I gained the hands-on experience that the forum provides. I learned about medicine, building and programming robots, engineering, and forensic science. I also learned how to put on a splinter and sling if someone in the wilderness broke their arm, how to program a robot, how to build a building on Mars, and how to find out who committed a crime. Above all I also gained an insight into college life experience.
Since 1985, Envision programs have served more than 800,000 students in more than 145 countries, with programs designed to help students develop leadership, scholarship and career skills needed to succeed in today’s competitive college and career landscape.
