School Board Candidate Forums have been scheduled by the First State Educate, the Newark Partnership, and other partner organizations to introduce candidates running for the seat up for election on the Christina Board of Education. The open seat is in District "A," but ALL residents may vote in the election for the open seat. 

The School Board Candidate Forums will be held on the following dates:

• Monday, April 28, 6:00-6:45 PM

  • Hosted by First State Educate and partner organizations
  • Registration required. Click here to register
  • The forum will also be live-streamed on First State Educate’s Facebook page and Youtube channel.
    
    
• Tuesday, April 29, 7:00-8:00 PM
  
  
  • Hosted by The Newark Partnership and partner organizations
  • Submit questions by April 27. Registration required. Click here to register
  • The forum will be held in person at the Newark Senior Center, located at 200 White Chapel Dr, Newark, DE 19713 and live-streamed on First State Educate's Youtube channel.

The candidates running for the open seat are:

• Nominating District "A" – Term expires June 30, 2029

  • Janiene Campbell (01-31-2025)
  • Shannon Troncoso (03-06-2025)

Election Date and Poll Place Hours:

School Board Elections will be held on May 13, 2025. Polls are open from 7:00 AM until 8:00 PM.
