Christina REACH Announces Polar Plunge, Spread the Word, and Rock Your Socks Events
It's that time of year! The Christina School District REACH Program is once again planning three popular events in the coming weeks, including the Polar Plunge, Spread the Word - Inclusion, and Rock Your Socks. Join us in raising awareness and supporting these important causes.
- Polar Plunge – The REACH & CEEC Polar Plunge Team will be taking the plunge virtually on Sunday, February 7 to raise money for Special Olympics. If you would like to join our team in doing the plunge or if you would like to donate to the cause, please visit our team page: https://www.classy.org/team/324435. 2021 Lewes Polar Bear Plunge Flyer
- Spread the Word - Inclusion - Please consider joining us in taking this pledge and wearing your t-shirt to support Spread the Word - Inclusion. The official day worldwide is Wednesday, March 3, 2021, but schools can host their event at any time before or after that date if it is more convenient.
- Order a T-Shirt
- Order via Your Child's School – Check with your child's school for additional information about ordering.

- Learn More: Visit the Special Olympics of Delaware website to learn more about Spread the Word - Inclusion.
- Rock Your Socks for World Down Syndrome Day - The official date for this event is March 21; however, because this day falls on the weekend, we will be celebrating Rock Your Socks on Monday, March 22. Together we will create a single global voice for advocating for the rights, inclusion, and well-being of people with Down Syndrome in our schools, community, and around the world. World Down Syndrome Day (March 21), was selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome, which leads to Down syndrome.
- Rock Your Socks! Instead of selling socks this year for the event, we want everyone to show support by wearing the wackiest, mismatched socks you own on March 22.
