Board Honor Roll Recipients - May 2023

The Christina School Board honored three Christina School District students during its May 10 meeting.  Honored by the Board were Kayla Parks, Oscar Catanzariti, and Parker Vinju.

Kayla is a 10th-grade student at Christiana High School.  The Board honored her for her recent achievements at the 2023 Delaware State FFA Convention.  Kayla placed 5th in the State for the Senior Prepared Public Speaking Leadership Development Event (LDE).  In addition, Kayla was also selected as the New Castle County Representative and will serve along with the Delaware State FFA officers for the year. 

Oscar is a 5th-grade student at Wilson Elementary School.  The Board honored him for earning the Merit Award in the 2022-2023 National PTA Reflections® Student Art Program for his poem, "Show Your Voice." The National PTA received over 900 student entries from 44 state PTA congresses.  Oscar was one of two National winners from the State of Delaware.

Parker is a 3rd-grade student at Wilson Elementary School.  The Board honored her for her recent achievement as the Grand Prize Winner in the 2023 National Children's Dental Health Month (NCDHM) Poster Contest.  The 2023 NCDHM poster contest theme was "Brush, Floss, Smile."
