School Board Member Dr. Claire O’Neal Says Farewell
After a dedicated four and a half years of service, Dr. Claire O'Neal bid farewell to the Christina School District Board of Education at the June 2024 meeting. Having opted not to run for reelection, Dr. O'Neal's term will officially come to a close on June 30, 2024.
During the June 4th board meeting, Dr. O'Neal's exceptional service and contributions to the community were recognized and celebrated by esteemed leaders, including Representative Paul Baumbach and Representative Cindy Romer, who presented her with a tribute from the House of Representatives.
Since joining the board in November 2019, Dr. O'Neal has been a tireless champion of public education, driven by a passion to promote and strengthen the quality of education provided by our public schools. Throughout her tenure, she has held various leadership roles, including Board Vice President, and has dedicated herself to creating a better future for our students. As we bid farewell to Dr. O'Neal, we welcome the new school board member for Nominating District D, Amy Trauth, and look forward to the exciting opportunities that lie ahead. Ms. Trauth will be sworn in in July.
