Free At-Home COVID-19 Test Kits for Christina Students and Staff
As COVID-19 cases in Delaware continue to decline and most requirements and mandates have become recommendations and suggestions, DPH encourages everyone to remember the importance of testing. Testing remains one of the best ways to protect yourself and those around you from the COVID-19 virus, by identifying cases early. To reduce barriers to testing, Christina in partnership with the Delaware Division of Public Health is offering free COVID-19 testing kits for all Christina School District students and staff.
COVID testing is a part of Christina’s layered strategy to keep our buildings safe, healthy and a welcoming learning environments for our students. In the next few days at-home COVID-19 test kit will be distributed to each Christina School District staff member. You will receive 1 COVID-19 test kit that contains information and instructions on the steps that you should take upon testing.
While testing is not required, we strongly urge you to use the test kit before returning from Spring Break to minimize the spread of COVID-19 after the holiday.
Use the test kit before returning from Spring Break on April 25. Please keep in mind these are over the counter, OTC, tests:
OTC test results do not require reporting and should not be reported to DPH.
OTC tests can be performed in any setting without monitoring or observation.
OTC tests can be administered without a CLIA waiver.
OTC test results should help support a safe school environment.
Please review the attached flier that contains information on the Updated Isolation and Quarantine Guidance for the School Settings.
