Student Class Transition

DDOE Guidance Regarding Class Transitions

  • The Delaware Department of Education Reopening Schools Guidance, p. 14, reads;
    Wipe down desks with either an EPA approved disinfectant or diluted bleach solution after every class group.”  

 

Student Class Transition School Protocol

  • Facilities will provide each classroom with an EPA approved disinfectant.
    • Two Products:
      • A labeled and pre-filled spray bottle of disinfectant
        • This product is to be used on hard surfaces such as student desks
        • The pre-filled bottle will be refilled, as needed by the custodial team.
      • Sanitizing Wipes - “Flex Wipes”
        • This product should be used to wipe down electronics and other items where a spray is not appropriate. 
  • Facilities will provide each classroom with paper towels.
  • Staff members are to use the spray disinfectant and the paper towels to wipe down the surface of each student desk prior to the new cohort of students entering the room.
    • Staff should perform the following steps:
      • Don Gloves (Optional)
      • Utilize the provided disinfectant spray and paper towels to clean the desktop surfaces.
        • Allow four minutes to dry
      • Doff Gloves (Optional)
      • Wash hands thoroughly after cleaning.
  • Students entering the classroom must:
    • Utilize hand sanitizer and/or wash hands.
      • Students must wash their hands and/or use hand sanitizer between activities.
  • Students exiting the classroom must:
    • Utilize hand sanitizer and/or wash hands.
