Brennen's Emily Szymanski named CSD Teacher of the Year!
Emily Szymanski, a preschool teacher at the Brennen School, got a surprise when Christina's Superintendent Dr. Dan Shelton, Deputy Superintendent Dr. Deirdra Joyner, Brennen Principal Heather Calkins, and District and Brennen School leaders made a surprise appearance in her classroom to announce that she had been chosen as the Christina School District Teacher of the Year for 2023-2024!
Emily was selected from an outstanding pool of building-level Teachers of the Year by the annual District selection committee. She will represent the Christina School District as its District Teacher of the Year for the 2023-2024 school year, and will also be in the running to be named the State Teacher of the Year by the Delaware Department of Education. The State Teacher of the Year will be announced this fall.
Congratulations to Emily Szymanski and the Brennen School for this outstanding honor!
