Christina Early Education Center Students participate in a special project to say Thank You!
Preschool and Prekindergarten students from the Christina Early Education Center (CEEC) in Newark, Delaware participated in a special project aimed to say thank you. The project was started by one of CEEC’s teachers, Sammi Dahms. Ms. Dahms was looking for a way to get her students involved and teach them that a simple thank you can go a long way. The project spread quickly through the school of more than 400 students. With the help of their families, students made thank you cards for workers on the frontline. Ms. Dahms delivered the cards to local grocery stores, restaurants, hospitals, police officers, fire fighters, postal workers, and UPS workers. The Christina Early Education Center works to teach young students academics in addition to social emotional skills and manners. Saying thank you to those who continue to work hard during the Covid-19 Pandemic is an important lesson for all of our students. At the Christina Early Education Center, home of the CEEC Sea Otters, students repeat a pledge each morning. This pledge aims to teach students to believe in themselves and that they can overcome any obstacle in their way. Students have continued to recite the pledge remotely during virtual learning. “I am safe. I am loved. I am strong. In Otter words, I GOT THIS!” Hopefully, by spreading their love and thank you’s, students have given those working hard some hope as well! #Ceecthanksyou #CSDPride
