In 2018, West Park Place Elementary School received special recognition for its outstanding achievements in Closing the Achievement Gap. The students showed exceptional performance on state tests and made remarkable progress in closing the achievement gaps between student groups, including those from low-income families, racial minority groups and students with disabilities.

Delaware Recognition School Award

The Delaware Recognition School Award recognizes school programs in three areas: Exceptional student performance, closing the achievement gap, and excellence in serving special populations, which includes the School of Continued Excellence award.
