James H. Groves Adult High School is a state-approved adult secondary school designed to provide adults and out-of-school youth with an opportunity to complete a high school education and earn a State of Delaware High School Diploma. The school is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
The mission of James H. Groves Adult High School is to provide a high-quality education that engages and empowers adult learners from diverse learning experiences who possess unique learning abilities, interests, and aspirations to acquire a James H. Groves High School Diploma. Groves prepares adult learners for career and post-secondary opportunities to become productive citizens within the communities in which they live and work and in an ever-changing global society.

When and where are classes typically held?
Classes are held at Glasgow High School in Newark, Delaware as follows:
- Monday/Wednesday Evenings - 5:30 PM - 9:00 PM
- Tuesday/Thursday Evenings - 5:30 PM - 9:00 PM

What are the graduation requirements?
The Delaware State Board of Education requires a minimum of 24 credits for graduation.
- English 4 credits
- Social Studies 3 credits
- Mathematics 4 credits
- Science 3 credits
- Foreign Language 2 credits
- Health .5 credits
- Career Pathway 3 credits
- Electives 4.5 credits
Previously earned high school credits can be evaluated for transfer credit and will be applied toward graduation requirements. Students without previous credits are able to complete all graduation requirements through the educational program.

How can I earn credits to graduate?
In addition to successful completion of cousework, credits can be earned in the following ways:
- Employment or Training Experience
- Military Training
- Higher Education Courses
- Community Service
- Certificate of Educational Attainment 3 (CEA3)

How will I know which courses I need?
Counselors will assist you at registration and will evaluate your educational history to determine credit needs and proper placement. Please provide an official high school transcript to expedite your registration.

What are the costs?
The only cost for the program is your time and a NON-REFUNDABLE $40.00 materials fee. Click HERE to pay the required fee. Scholarships and or payment plans are available in the event a full payment is not available at the time of registration. Please contact the program administrator to apply for a scholarship or payment plan.

How can I obtain my high school transcript from one school or multiple?
You may request your transcripts via parchment.com or complete the Request for Transcript document located to the right and send to each of the schools you attended.

Groves In-School Credit Program for Christina School District High School Students
Are you in danger of not graduating with your class? James H. Groves Adult High School In-School Credit program can provide flexibility for students who need additional required courses for graduation. Classes are scheduled to provide flexibility for students who:
- Need additional required courses for graduation.
- Credit Recovery
- Need to work for financial reasons.
- Have family obligations and responsibilities.
- Function better in smaller classes
Students must be at least 14 years old and meet minimum admission requirements in order to enroll. High School students interested in this program should contact their high school guidance counselor or call the Christina Adult Education Program office at 302-454-2400 (Press #1).
