School Counselor Bio: Counselor Corner
Welcome to the Counselor’s Corner! I am SaraBeth Oppermann, the school counselor at McVey Elementary School. I am beginning my 5th year of service within the Delaware schools. My first two years, I was a long-term, School Counselor Substitute for Maple Lane Elementary and Heritage Elementary. I continued as the Behavioral Interventionist at Heritage Elementary for a year. This is my second year at McVey Elementary and I am excited to be here!
I received my degree in Behavioral Science from Wilmington University and continued on to receive my master's degree in School Counseling. I am a lifelong Delaware resident.
During my free time you can find me hanging out with my fiancé and my two dogs, Waylon and Ledger. I am a food enthusiast, and you will always find me snacking. I have a passion for running and staying active. You may find me on the weekends at a local road race.
My mission is to help each student at McVey Elementary form healthy goals, mindsets and behaviors through the practice of applying academic achievement strategies, manage emotions and apply interpersonal skills and become an active and positive citizen within their community. My vision is to create a future world where all students thrive.
I look forward to working with you and your student(s). If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. Or just reach out to say hi!
