Overall Focus: This institute is designed exclusively for Equity Coordinators who are seeking to become a CSD DEIB Trainer. Participants will deepen their understanding of effective equity-focused facilitation and apply the knowledge, skills, and mindsets necessary to lead Christina School District’s DEIB module content with confidence, clarity, and impact.

Day 1

Build community and connection among facilitators

Introduce and explore a framework for facilitating for equity and cultural responsiveness

Explore and reflect upon facilitator identities & experiences and the ways they impact and influence facilitation

Practice facilitating through identities and experiences
Day 2

Build community and connection among facilitators

Consider and explore what about participants facilitators should know, be aware of, and use to inform equity facilitation

Practice planning for a facilitation where careful consideration is paid to the identities, roles, history, and goals, among other factors, of PD participants
Day 3

Build community and connection among facilitators

Become familiar with the "strategic tension” of equity facilitation

Generate and practice using strategies to address both knowledge/theory and concrete practices and strategies
Day 4

Build community and connection among facilitators

Build foundational understanding of adult learning theory and the role(s) of facilitators

Explore facilitator interventions/moves that support participant learning

Apply knowledge of adult learning theory and facilitation moves grounded in equity
