Dear First Graders,
I hope you are having a relaxing and memorable summer! My name is Ms. Lori Dickerson, and I will be your first-grade teacher this year. I am excited to meet you and start to get to know you.
On the first day of school, please bring along your school supplies, labeled with your full name and room number. Be sure to look at our classroom supply list on the first grade web page. We will spend some time on the first day organizing these materials so that we will be ready to get started with having fun together and learning.
We are going to have a great year together! We'll read lots and lots of books and discover new authors whom you will love. We will learn new writing crafts and do some projects, too. In first grade you will be learning about all kinds of things, including: keeping reader's and writer's notebooks, addition and subtraction and famous people from Delaware.
Enjoy the rest of your summer, and know that I am looking forward to meeting you on the first day. Get ready for an amazing, interesting, and memorable school year! I am already wondering what kinds of things you like to do.
Smiles,
Ms. Dickerson
