In 2024, Maclary Elementary School received the 2024 School CANgineering Ray of Hope Award: Light Up Someone's Day, which is awarded by the Food Bank of Delaware. Maclary Elementary students built a display of canned goods that were designed in a different array of colors topped with a cut-out flame on each column. All food donations collected were taken to the Food Bank of Delaware to feed food-insecure Delawareans. 

CANgineering (Food Bank of Delaware)

CANgineering is a food-drive structure-building competition organized by the Food Bank of Delaware. The competition encourages local organizations to use canned or boxed foods to build sculptures or other designs while collecting canned goods for Delawareans who need food assistance.
