George V. Kirk Middle School, formerly known as Ogletown Middle School, was built in 1957. It has had a long and honorable history of producing some of the finest men and women in the world. The school is named for Dr. George V. Kirk, a distinguished Superintendent of Schools in the Newark and New Castle County areas of Delaware.
Our Mission Statement reflects a vision shared by parents, teachers, and administrators. This vision serves as our guide as we structure our school to meet 21st-century standards. The mission of George V. Kirk Middle School, a diverse and technologically progressive community of learners, is to educate each student to excel academically while developing physically, emotionally, and socially within a safe, caring environment by setting superior academic standards and using innovative teaching methods and resources.
All Kirk Middle School students will be able to READ, COMPREHEND and ANALYZE information; and express their level of understanding as measured by the classroom assessments, district assessments, and state assessments.
