  • How It All Began

The Bayard Borchestra was established in 2018 by music teacher Pete Antony after the Christina School District merged schools in Wilmington, DE. The program started as a drumline at Elbert-Palmer Elementary School, which was also led by Mr. Antony. The Palmer Peacock Drumline performed at many local events and even had the opportunity to play at Disney Springs in Florida in 2016.

When Elbert-Palmer closed its doors in 2018, Mr. Antony saw an opportunity to create something new. He transformed the drumline into the Bayard Borchestra, a unique ensemble that blends band and orchestra for students in grades 1-8 at the Bayard School.
