See below.  All forms and payments are due back on August 28.  If you missed the last day of camp, you can pick up a handbook at the Aug. 22 rehearsal.  Please contact me if you have any questions. 

    Band Handbook

    The full CHS Band Handbook is included below.  It includes important forms about uniforms, student medical information, permission slips, etc. Handbook forms and payments will be due on Wednesday, August 28. Please turn them in as soon as possible.  The handbook also includes the full music department performance schedule(which could change and will be updated through Remind 101 and my band page).

    Dear Christiana Marching Band Families,

    Welcome to the 2024-2025 Christiana High School Band! Our goal this year is to give each and every student a positive musical experience, as well as experiences they can use later in life.  The level of music we choose will challenge the members of our band to become better musicians.  Much of what we do in a band is learning to work together, learning about time management and the value of teamwork. These concepts are going to be stressed throughout the entire year.  The student leader is an upperclassman that will help you with your transition into the Christiana Band Program.  

    We hope many of the new families will join our Music Booster Association.  It is an active support group for the band, choir and string organizations.  They have been a big part of the success of the Christiana High School music department.  Please join and become an active part of the music department and your student’s musical education.  The booster board can give you more information about how to become an “active member.” Our first booster meeting will take place on August 26th at 7:30. We will meet in person in the band room during the marching band season, so parents can just pick up their students directly after the meeting.  Once the marching band season is completed, we will move to a zoom format. More information to follow. 

    Any Marching Band information, such as schedules, updates, Music Booster officer contact information, marching staff etc. can be obtained on our band page on the CHS Website. Band information will be updated throughout the summer and the school year. It will be updated through the use of the website and Remind 101.  If you have any questions, please contact me at 

    Our team is looking forward to meeting all of you and having a successful year.  We will continue to work together to establish a musical environment in which students and parents can be proud.

    Marching Band Google Drive

    We will keep all the music, videos, and recordings on this Google drive. We will be updating it over the next month as the show is being written. 

    Flag/Instrument Pick-up information:

    All equipment will be handed out during rehearsals and band camp. 


    Band Page-Go to the faculty directory on the CHS website, Find my name and then click “view website” and then click on “band.” 

    Remind 101-Go to the remind app. The class name is @chsmbmrd or text the class name to 81010 if you just want the texts and not the app.

    Phone number- Please make sure we have the most updated home/cell for all students.

    Updated e-mail- Our music boosters will send out e-mail information throughout the season about schedules, fundraising, etc. I will send e-mails as well. Boosters, Music Booster


    We will need t-shirts and shoe sizes for new members. Uniform information will be in the band handbook. I am waiting to see if there are any other changes before I send the book or post any schedules. A condensed version of the handbook will be handed out during the second week of band camp.     Volunteer Forms

    Please let me know if you have ever volunteered for a CSD school district program.  If so, I will need to get you a volunteer form. The district is moving more to online and Google forms. Let me check to see if they have put parent volunteer forms online.   I will explain more when I see you. 

    Help for games and performances

    We will need chaperones and parents to help with uniforms for all games. We will need help with the pit crew and driving the two trailers.  Please contact Mrs. Sobolewski or Mrs. Goff if you can help with any of these items. I am looking forward to a great season and please let me know if you have any questions.

      Mandatory Practice(equal to a game requirement)-Time 12:00-3:00. This will allow us to get caught up with weeks off in August/September and prepare for our first TOB Festival in years.

    The game has been changed to Thursday evening. CHS will be bringing in lights for the game! Hopefully it does not rain this year. 

    9/23-UD Band Day-6:00 Game. I am still waiting for information. Probably a 12:30 departure for a 1:00 rehearsal.

    Appo HS TOB Festival Show. 3:00 start. We may leave the game early to attend. It depends on our performance time. We will be discussing with the students the commitment needed to participate.     11/11 NCC Band Festival at AI Dupont HS.-6:00. We will do a run through practice prior to leaving for the festival. Final run-through: 2:45.  Senior luncheon will take place in the cafeteria before the rehearsal. Senior families and the band will be invited to the luncheon.  1:00-2:00.


    2023 Marching Band Extra Practices and Performance

    CHS Open House-October 5th. No rehearsal. 

    Extra Mandatory PracticesAfter a two-week break in August, starting school after Labor Day and several missed rehearsals in Sept., a couple of extra rehearsals will help us get caught up and prepare for the Tournament of Bands and NCC Band Festivals. 9/16 and 11/4. 10:00-12:30. 

    10/21-Senior Recognition Game:  The recognition will take place before the game and the luncheon will be taken care of after the game. 

    10/28-Timber Farms Parade-3:00. After homecoming, we will get changed and go directly over to Timbre Farms. We will be driving ourselves over to Timber Farms.

    10/29-Newark Halloween Parade-3:00. Report Time 1:00. Buses will leave at 1:30. (Students must be in some kind of costume. It could just be a mask.)   

    11/4-UD Band Day(Rescheduled)-7:30 Report time.  Bus leaves at 7:45. Game at 1:00. Back to school at approx. 5:00. More information to follow.   

    11/11-New Castle County Band Festival A.I. Dupont H.S.-6:00. Purchase tickets from Mr. D and CHS Band keep the proceeds. If you purchase at the door. A.I. Dupont keeps the proceeds. Senior luncheon will take place at 1:00. Once students come to school they will not leave until we are done with the day.
