Proud to be a "Woodchuck"
At Albert H. Jones, home of the Woodchucks, we nurture as we educate all children by focusing on their individual needs and preparing them to be productive citizens in the 21st century. Our commitment is to provide rigorous Common Core aligned instruction that will motivate them to become scholars in a society that revolves around Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Our major school-wide STEM focus is environmental education. Through a partnership with Northbay Adventures, students participate in observations and hands-on lesson concepts to help students understand how humans impact habitats, how soil is made, how erosion impacts the Chesapeake Bay, how pollution reach local tributaries, and much more. Students also observe and maintain the school's Raised Pollinator & Native Plant flower beds.
