In reading groups, I work in a small group format with students with similar reading skills.
A frequent question I get is: What happens when it’s not a student’s turn to meet in small group?
- Various materials will be used depending on the needs of group members. (Leveled reading books, Soar to Success)
- Students will be monitored regularly for growth. (Cold reads, DIBELS, etc.)
- Students complete practice pages related to lessons taught in whole group.
- Students work at centers (phonics centers, fluency centers, writing centers)
