Assistant Principal's Message
August 23, 2023
Dear Oberle Students and Families,
It is with great excitement and joy that I greet you as your new Assistant Principal. Mr. Scott and I have been busy getting school ready for our students for the 2023-2024 school year. It is an honor and a privilege to serve the Oberle community and be at the “O”.
I come to you with 11 years of school leadership experience, with 6 years in elementary, 3 years in secondary, and 2 years serving as Delaware Department of Education and Christina School District’s dual language immersion coach and curriculum specialist. Prior to moving to the area, I served as the Assistant Principal in the Bellevue School District at Somerset Elementary School and Jing Mei Elementary schools. I have also taught EL to language learners at the elementary and secondary levels and have served as a reading specialist for Seattle Public Schools. My passion is in growing teachers, working collaboratively with school-wide teams, and developing academic, social-emotional learning, and behavioral supports for all of our Oberle students. Specifically, I look forward to learning alongside Mr. Scott and you in the coming months to Listen and Learn and develop a collaborative and cohesive plan to meet the needs of every Oberle LEADer. I am also excited to work alongside our teacher leaders and teams to support the leadership moves that drives student-driven instruction and student well-being.
I believe in reinforcing and authentically celebrating all of our students’ cultures and identities and collaborating with you to continue the work of growing their sense of belonging at Oberle. I am a first-generation immigrant from Taipei, Taiwan and am someone who understands first-hand the needs of our English language learners and multilingual learners. I hope to honor all of our Oberle diverse students and serve them and our families equitably and honorably.
We are looking forward to meeting you all at our Back to School event on August 30th from 4:30-6:30 p.m. and hope to see you get involved in a variety of our school events and celebrations this year. Please feel free to reach out to me to say Hi or email me with any questions or ideas you may have!
