Physical Education

  • What does Physical Education look like?

The physical education program emphasizes three major areas:
    1. The development and maintenance of good health and physical fitness
    2. The acquisition of movement skills
    3. Intellectual, emotional and social development

Physical Education classes meet once a week. During this time children are encouraged to exercise through movement and participation in developmentally appropriate activities.

Each class is divided into three components:
    1. Warm-up (vigorous movement)
    2. Lesson focus (skill development)
    3. Cooldown (closing activities)
