What does Physical Education look like?
The physical education program emphasizes three major areas:
- The development and maintenance of good health and physical fitness
- The acquisition of movement skills
- Intellectual, emotional and social development
Physical Education classes meet once a week. During this time children are encouraged to exercise through movement and participation in developmentally appropriate activities.
Each class is divided into three components:
- Warm-up (vigorous movement)
- Lesson focus (skill development)
- Cooldown (closing activities)
