1:1 Technology
The Christina School District (CSD) has invested in a 1:1 technology initiative for students to increase student access to technology and instruction in all learning environments, improve core skills, boost motivation and engagement, and foster the development of 21st-century skills through project development, research and communication. Bully-Free Schools
The purpose of the Christina School District (CSD) Bully-Free Schools Initiative is to heighten awareness around the issue of bullying and to promote a safe learning environment for all students. The initiative includes professional development, sharing of research-based information, recommendations and interventions, and activities for administrators, staff, students, and parents. Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)
The federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), which was signed into law December 10, 2015, is the reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) of 1965. Delaware's ESSA plan was approved by the U.S. Department of Education in August 2017. This plan outlines the state’s strategies for implementing ESSArequired assessments; accountability; and school, educator, and student supports. Learn more about ESSA.
Wilmington Learning Collaborative
The Wilmington Learning Collaborative is a voluntary network of schools in Wilmington across multiple school districts. The Collaborative’s goal is to create consistency for students, empower educators, school leaders, and communities, and improve outcomes for students in City of Wilmington schools. Wilmington Schools Partnership
On February 13, 2018, the Christina Board of Education approved an agreement with the Governor’s Office and the Department of Education that includes proposed changes to Bancroft, Elbert-Palmer, Pulaski, Stubbs, and Bayard schools. The agreement, called a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), includes new ideas for Wilmington schools to improve student achievement. Read more about the Wilmington Schools Partnership.
Redding Consortium for Educational Equity
(formerly Wilmington Education Improvement Commission)
In July 2019, Senate Bill 148 was signed into law, which established the Redding Consortium for Educational Equity and replaces the Wilmington Education Improvement Commission. For more information, visit solutionsfordelawareschools.com.
