James Lenihan

Growing up in Newark, James Lenihan learned early on the importance of kindness.  During his childhood, some of the events that left lasting impressions were how proud his mother would get when she heard "Jimmy" did something nice.  When the mother of a bullied classmate called to say that her son thought Jimmy was his only friend, Jim's mother radiated with love.  Reports of Jim's kindness, especially towards those in need, were what she wanted out of her son.  Earning Eagle Scout, making all-star teams and winning a state championship were all secondary in her eyes.  The importance of helping others sticks with Jim in his role as an educator today, teaching Woodworks and Co-Op at the Networks School for Employability Skills.
