The Student Services Department plays an important role in providing a wide range of support and resources for students, both at the district level and within individual schools. This department is dedicated to addressing the diverse needs of students by focusing on four key areas: whole child support, student protections, student procedures and placements, and supportive staff.

Support Staff
The Student Services Department encompasses the school-based support staff of School Counselors, School Nurses, Deans, and School Social Workers and Visiting Teachers.
School Support Staff
School Support Staff are vital members of the educational community who provide direct and indirect services to ensure the well-being of students, staff and families.
The Student Services Department encompasses the school-based support staff of School Counselors, School Nurses, Deans, and School Social Workers and Visiting Teachers.
The Student Services Department also supports various school-based roles within the school setting: Building 504 Coordinators, District Deployment Team for Crisis Response, McKinney-Vento (MV) Building Liaisons, Foster Care (FC) Building Liaisons, MTSS Coordinators, School Homebound (HB) Contact Person, and Student Support Services (i.e. Hall Monitors, In-School Alternative (ISA) Staff, In-School Suspension (ISS) Staff)
School Counselors
School counselors are certified/licensed educators who improve student success for ALL students by implementing a comprehensive school counseling program.
School Nurses
School nurses help students be healthy, safe and ready to learn
Deans
Deans work in conjunction with students, parents, teachers,and other support staff to develop innovative strategies, preventative approaches, and proactive plans for students who exhibit at-risk behaviors. They analyze school wide data to reduce discipline referrals and assist with a positive school climate.
School Social Workers and Visiting Teachers
School Social Workers are trained mental health professionals who are the link between the home, school and community in providing direct as well as indirect services to students, families and school personnel to promote and support students' academic and social success.

Whole Child Supports are a coordinated effort to promote and sustain a positive school climate for the academic success of all students.
Whole Child Supports
A whole child approach, which ensures that each student is healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged, sets the standard for comprehensive, sustainable school improvement and provides for long-term student success.
In the Student Services Department, Whole Child Supports are a coordinated effort between skilled educators such as mental and behavioral health providers, Deans, Administrators and teachers to promote and sustain a positive school climate for the academic success of all students.
Whole Child Supports include Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), Restorative Practices (RP), School-Based Health Centers (SBHC), Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), Mental Health Literacy (MHL), and Trauma-Informed Practices.
